Boris Huang

Boris has been around construction for as long as he can remember. Coming from a family of builders, he grew up on job sites watching how buildings are actually built: not through crossing your fingers and hoping, but through deliberate sequencing, meticulous craft, and thousands of small decisions with big impacts.

With a B.S. in Civil Engineering (USC)
and M.S. in Construction Management (Columbia), Boris began his career in commercial high-rise construction, working with major firms
(Suffolk, SOM, and CIM).

In that world, complexity is their morning coffee. Technical details, big budgets, field conditions, timelines. That experience shaped the way Boris thinks about construction today.

When Boris brought that discipline into custom residential work, he saw the same problems appear. Homeowners wanted beautiful spaces, but the process was fragmented between designers, builders, and late-stage decisions. The result was stress, rework, budget drift, and design intent getting weakened in the field.

BSD is built to solve that gap. As Founder and President, Boris sets the construction philosophy behind the company:

Beauty must be buildable, and buildability must be deliberate.

He pushes his team to think scientifically about details, study structure, and solve problems before they become irreversible regrets.
